Sister of Life to Profess Final Vows in Toronto

A Sister of Life will profess her final vows at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica this Saturday, August 26. Archbishop Francis Leo will be the main celebrant and homilist.

Sr. Gaudia Maria Magdalena was raised in the Archdiocese of Ottawa and attended St. Hyacinth Parish/Parafia Św. Jacka. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences. Prior to entering the Sisters of Life, Sr. Gaudia Maria Magdalena completed the Social Service Worker Program at Algonquin College and spent a year of Faith Formation at St. Therese School in Bruno, Saskatchewan.

Sr. Gaudia spent her first two years as a professed sister on the Postulant Formation Team in the Bronx (2018-2020). In 2020, she was missioned to Philadelphia to assist in the Visitation Mission to pregnant women. In 2021, she joined the mission in Toronto which includes services to vulnerable, pregnant women, accompaniment on the journey of hope and healing for those suffering after the experience of abortion as well as evangelization.

Sisters take the traditional vows of poverty, chastity and obedience – as well as a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life.
