Who, or what are you dressing for?

Our Catholic tradition is that we dress up nice for Sunday Mass. This may be somewhat uncomfortable for some people, but we do it to honour Our Eucharistic Lord. If you had a meeting or gathering with the Queen of England, would you dress for comfort, or to appeal to the opposite sex? Would you appear as if you were going to the beach or to the park? The Queen of England is as nothing compared to the King of Kings, Jesus Christ, truly present in every Catholic Church. If we make our Sunday Mass attendance an occasion to celebrate our meeting with Jesus, and we do it with great dignity, including how we dress, then God will bless our efforts to honour Him and we will be a good example to those around us.
